Galia the Ghost - Free Crochet Pattern

Pattern 2 of my Halloween ragdoll series is of course, a ghost. Every Halloween needs a cute little ghost right? *cough* Casper *cough* Whether you believe in ghosts or not this little stuffie is sure to make a cute addition to any Halloween decor.

Materials Needed:

Yarn

o   Acrylic worsted weight, white, approx. 120 yds

o   Acrylic worsted weight, black, approx. 20 yds

Extras

o   Stuffing

o   3.75mm hook

o   Scissors

o   Tapestry Needle


Stitches Key:

sc – single crochet

inc – increase/2 single crochet in same stitch

dec – decrease/single crochet 2 together

ch/s – chain/s

st/s – stitch/es

sl st – slip stitch


Gauge:

8.5 sc and 9 rows = 2 inches


Size:

finished galia is approx. 6.5” tall and 8.5”


Color code:

W – white

B - black


Notes:

  • ch 1 at the beginning of each row does not count as st

  • ch 1 and turn at the end of every row unless otherwise marked

  • always attach yarn with a slip st to the wrong side of your last row

  • when stitching together the pieces make sure to stick your hook through BOTH pieces to make sure they’re sewn together, you will stitch in every row and stitch around the panel, applying any special notes indicated in that portion of the pattern

  • when working frequent color changes you will continue to work in sc (unless otherwise marked) and will stitch in the color indicated by the color code and the number of stitches indicated by the number.

EXAMPLE

Color code:

P – pink

O – orange

W – white

G – green

“Pinc, 3, O5, W8, Gdec, 2”

would be

“inc, sc 3 in pink, sc 5 in orange, sc 8 in white, dec, sc 2 in green”

Arms (make 2):

Row 1: ch 3, sc 2 (2)

Row 2: inc, inc (4)

Row 3-6: sc 4 (4)

Fasten off, weave in ends

 

Repeat rows 1-6, do not fasten off

 

Stitching together:

Place arm panels, wrong sides together, lining up the stitches

 

Special notes:

·         (sc, ch 1, sc) in the corners

·         stitch 2 sc in each of the 2 starting chs from row 1

·         stuff before stitching your final side

sl st join to first sc

Fasten off, leave a long tail for sewing onto body, set aside

*cut black yarn, leave a tail for sewing in ends, continue in white*

Stitching together:

Place front and back body panels, wrong sides together, lining up the stitches

 

Special notes:

·         stitch 3 sc into the dec of row 4 of the tail

·         stuff as you go

 

ch 1, sc around

sl st join to first sc

fasten off, weave in ends.


Finishing:

Sew your arms onto your body, weave in any remaining ends.
